Why do quotes differ from broker to broker?

Forex is an OTC (over-the-counter) market. This means that there is no single exchange platform on which all Forex brokers could carry out their operations. Lack of a unified market platform entails absence of unified price. Thus the quotes can vary slightly due to the fact that different brokers use different liquidity providers.
